WWF Over the Edge

Over the Edge was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event that was to be produced every May by the American professional wrestling promotion the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). The event was created in 1998, with its inaugural event produced as an In Your House event in May of that year. The event was retired the following year after Owen Hart, a performer for WWF, died during that year's event when he fell to his death during his ring entrance.

Since there have only been two Over The Edge Pay-Per-Views, the PPV had been held in only two U.S. states. Both events were held in an indoor arena. Each event featured WWF talent competing in various professional wrestling match types.

Events

Event: Date: City: Venue: Notes:
Over the Edge: In Your House May 31, 1998[1] Milwaukee, Wisconsin[1] Wisconsin Center Arena[1] Stone Cold Steve Austin managed to overcome the odds, retaining the WWF Championship against Dude Love (with Vince McMahon as Special Guest Referee) in a No Disqualification Falls Count Anywhere. On the undercard, The Nation of Domination defeated D-Generation X, and Kane defeated Vader in a Mask vs. Mask match.[1]
Over the Edge (1999) May 23, 1999[2] Kansas City, Missouri[2] Kemper Arena[2] The Undertaker defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin in the main event to win the WWF Championship, but Owen Hart's death overshadowed the events. Hart was booked to face The Godfather for the WWF Intercontinental Championship. Hart died, however, after falling from the top of the arena while preparing for a stunt.[2][3]
